Montrael Sanders
Montrael Sanders - AKA “Lil Drummer Boy” native of Tyler, is the youngest member of Faber & Friends Band. Besides beating up his parents furniture, Montrael started playing drums at an early age and started playing drums for his church - Smith Temple COGIC at the age of 16. Not only is he a master at playing drums, he is also a master at playing keyboards, organ, and bass guitar and started playing organ in high school for True Vine Baptist Church and later playing organ for Family of Faith Christian Church. He is presently serving as the organist/keyboardist for People’s Missionary Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas.
Montrael is a 2007 graduate of John Tyler High School where he was the Captain of the Drum Line for the band and was also a member of the High School Gospel Choir. He is also a graduate of Tyler Jr. College where he was a member of the TJC Drumline and Percussionist for the TJC Jazz Band.
As a student at Tyler Jr. College and a member of the Jazz Band, Montrael had the privilege of working with several artists such as Brad Leili, Ron Wilkins, Lou “Blue Lou” Marini, and Joey Tarten. He has also served as a guest musician for Texas College Jazz Band working those fingers on strings as a Bass Guitarist.
In the world of gospel, Montrael has also had the privilege of playing with several Gospel Recording Artists such as Dorinda Clark, William Murphy, Malcolm Williams, and musicians Shawn Martin and Michael Robinson.
Montrael is presently working for the Tyler Independent School District as a Technician for the John Tyler High School Marching Band Drumline and has previously worked as a Band Technician for Dogan Middle School (TISD)
He has been the percussionist for Faber & Friends Band since 2007
